Just a heads up to always have a designated driver, call a cab, or schedule an Uber driver to pick you up from the local bars in San Marcos. Drinking and driving in the City of San Marcos, North County, or elsewhere in the greater San Diego area, is never a good idea. You’re not only risking your own safety and life, but you’re also risking the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. To help discourage San Marcos and North County residents, the California Highway Patrol will be setting up random DUI Checkpoint or sobriety checkpoints in San Marcos the upcoming weekend, March 18, 2016. These will run from 7:30pm Sunday evening until 2:30am Sunday morning. So don’t be dumb and get behind the wheel after an evening of drinking at a friends house or local bar in San Marcos.
